Master of Ceremonies
Kristyn Hartman
WCPO Channel 9 On Your Side
Kristyn, a Chicago native, joined WCPO 9 On Your Side as an evening anchor on April 2017. She has won multiple awards including a regional Edward R. Murrow Award, four Ohio Valley Emmy Awards and two Ohio Associated Press Awards. Before and after a mastectomy in October 2015, Kristyn publicly discussed the process to raise awareness about the procedure and the importance of cancer screening.
She is most proud of the stories that really educate viewers, introduces them to someone special, and takes them somewhere they haven’t been. When asked what Kristyn loves about Cincinnati, she says: “The people. The culture. The history. The news. Pro Football. Pro Baseball. And it’s a beautiful city. I love the hills. And I love that it’s where the Midwest meets the South.”
As a college student at Northwestern University, where she graduated in 1992, Hartman was a news intern at Chicago’s WBBM-TV. She worked as an anchor-reporter in Joplin, MO; Peoria, IL; Charlotte, NC; Phoenix, AZ; and Columbus, OH.
